Another “Year From Hell” on the Way for San Francisco?

We're only one week into the season and 49ers players are dropping like flies.

Last year was supposed to be the Shanahan redemption arc, after coming up short in the Super Bowl the previous season against the Chiefs. Promise quickly turned into disappointment after injuries to several key players on the roster. The "year from hell" vibes had fully taken over.

This offseason was about paying some of the top guys and getting back on track. However, one week into the season, the injury bug is already creeping back in.

Purdy is banged up. Kittle will be out for a couple weeks. Jennings has a shoulder thing. Who knows when Aiyuk will return.

Not to mention, Christian McCaffrey inexplicably showed up on the injury report mere days before their first game against Seattle with a calf issue.

Every one remembers the McCaffrey injury debacle that started last season. He showed up on the injury report days before the season kicked off. Next thing you know he's flying to Europe to figure out "bilateral achilles tendinitis", which sounds like a phrase Harry Potter would spit in a Hogwarts lecture.

And while he ended up playing on Sunday, it was enough to get 49ers fans sweating about last years nightmare.

They ended up pulling out the win in Seattle, but I'm not sure everything is peaches and cream out there in Santa Clara. Visions of last year are ruining sleeping patterns of San Fran fans across the nation.
