LeBron's "second decision" is apparently loading:
Is this Lebron's final year in the NBA? That's apparently what many a LeBron fan is hypothesizing. Tickets to the Lakers final home game this year skyrocket in the wake of this teaser.
It's not lost on me that LeBron will definitely take the retirement tour route because he can't help himself. However, there's a tiny wrinkle in the calendar that makes the idea of this being the king's last season an overreaction. Tomorrow is Amazon Prime Day, as Tony East pointed out.
Beautiful work by Amazon, honestly. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers were in on this as well. Lakers fans eagerly await any chance they can to spend their money, even if it's complete bullshit.
I remember hearing a story from the Mismatch Podcast (The Ringer) where host Chris Vernon told a story that involved trading cards. He has packed a Charlotte Hornets Mark Williams card that wasn't of any real substantial value. He listed the card on Ebay for roughly 5 dollars if I can recall. The listing collected dust until Mark Williams was (in principle) traded to the Lakers. Someone then purchased Vernon's Mark Williams card for $150.
Guess who never ended up being traded to the Lakers because the Lakers backed out of the deal? Mark Williams.
I got a Jake LaRavia autographed card in a pack not too long ago. I should probably go ahead and list that. Someone will surely give me 20x market value for it (Not a shot at Mr. LaRavia he seems like a fine ball player. These are just the people we're dealing with).
If LeBron actually announces this year being his last tomorrow, I'll eat crow. But this is classic cryptic king, and it's probably an Amazon ad. But hey, $1000 for the regular season game against 12 win Utah is probably a steal.
